the end of 2008...

Another year has gone by, can you believe it? It's been an interesting year with its ups and downs. It's time for 2009 now; hopefully, new and exciting things are here to come! :) Let's go!

12.31.08 -- 2.9 years =D

The List:
- first "real" job - *shudder* the thought of retail
- 2 years
- EUROPE :)
- my last SDC that I know of :(
- first LV
- Becca & Grace's 21st birthdays
- entered the 20's
- first place in CCU volleyball
- met lots of new people
- went shopping WAY too much
- my first musical, Hairspray
Good times. Bad times. Through it all, God has been there and got me through everything. I am grateful for everything.

break...

Whoohoo! Tomorrow is my first official week of Winter Break! AWESOME! :)

Today was pretty chill, I guess. I hung out with Bonny alone for the first time, which was fun. We went to Jeremy's, ate lunch, and did some shopping downtown. I found a pair of $7 wine red flats at Jeremy's, and we both got one of the "Fabulous Finds" dresses at Forever 21. I got pink (of course) and she got turquoise. Yay for $13.50 dresses.

I will get to wear the dress for a wedding tomorrow... yes... a wedding on a Monday... more on that later.

I am loving my iPod touch, and I figured out how to put videos onto it with the help of Anna. ^.^ I decided to put the The Hills Season 1 Episode 1 on there for now until I have more videos. Gotta love new technology.

christmas...

MERRY (BELATED) CHRISTMAS TO EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!!

DONE WITH SCHOOL!!! (at least until the end of January).

I can't believe another Christmas has gone by. It's kind of crazy how fast time flies. *sigh* It didn't feel like Christmas this year because of all the rush and craziness.

Thank you to everyone for the presents. I greatly appreciate them and I hope you enjoy mine too! :)

YAY for new iPod Touch and "Wicked" tickets! Thanks, dear!

freezing...

It's freezing cold! I hate it so much. I have been discussing with people how we're true Californians; we can't last in weather under 50 degrees.

Work is not too horrible, and I'm just waiting to get my paycheck from last week because I REALLY need it after all that Christmas shopping. AHHH!!!

ONE more final tomorrow. CAN'T wait to be finished!!!

BEYONCE - "Ave Maria"
"... I found heaven on earth
You were my last, my first
And then I hear this voice inside
Ave Maria ..."

I know why it sounds so different now... it's because it's in English. Haha. It's usually in Latin or something... anyways, it's pretty.

work....

Cruel and unusual punishment = 6:30 AM shift at COACH. People who go shopping at 7am are insane and need a life.

Almost done with Christmas shopping! Yay! I do feel SO broke now though... *sigh*. I can't wait to get the paycheck for this past week since I've been working almost everyday with five hour or more shifts.

I can't believe Christmas is in a few days! So exciting but so fast. I haven't had much time to enjoy the holiday season this year because of all the crap to do...

Happy notes:
DS 212: A- !!! I was expecting B+ highest if lucky.
Over 100% on the HM 421 (CA Food, Wine, and Culture) final.

I only shake my fist at Jing Liu... the crusher of Christmas spirit. Stupid Dec. 22 final at 4:00pm. All the more reason to dislike her.
"I ought to 'prove-read' your face!" - Sharon Lee

When I was leaving Stonestown, there were SOOOOO many cars!! I let this car go into the lot, and she glared and me and did that "arms up" thing with the "what the heck are you doing?" look. Talk about Miss Cranky Pants. Sorry for letting you go, I should have just cut you off. What would she have done if I had given her a parking space? She would probably honk as loud as possible and flick me off.

My Christmas song: "Grown Up Christmas List" - Michael Buble
"...
So here's my lifelong wish
My grown-up Christmas list
Not for myself, but for a world in need

No more lives torn apart
That wars would never start
And time would heal all hearts
Every man would have a friend
That right would always win
And love would never end..."

almost there...

Wow, it has been awhile since I've blogged. It has been quite a busy time for me considering finals, papers, and work. I am almost done with finals... one more to go! Stupid Jing Liu!!!

Christmas is NEXT week. OH MY GOSH!!!!! I am SO not ready for it yet!! I haven't really done any shopping because of working at the normal shopping hours. *sigh* I am free during the day tomorrow and I have all day Friday, so hopefully I can get some shopping done.

The "head honchos" of the company are visiting us during this week, so we've been cleaning,
prepping, and everything. We even cleaned the walls. Insane.

The EM Christmas program went rather well, but the welcome table was so hectic because everyone was pushing and shoving their way in. Other than that, it went well. :) No more planning!

I had to help my aunt get a bag for my cousin, and since I have to get two things, my mom said
she'd pay for a bag for me. Yay! So I ordered a Sabrina in espresso since we don't have anymore in the store. It was a pretty good deal. I am getting tired of other people asking me to buy something for them though. At least once a week, I get people asking me if I could help them get something or if anything is on the delete list. Most of the time, I don't know, so they should really just leave me alone. Coach isn't THAT expensive compared to other designer brands, so I think they should just pay full price.

just for kicks...

Mario Kart in France

#5 - The De Young Museum

I hate doing presentation. I wish I wasn't so picky about it; otherwise, it'd take a lot faster. Perfectionism should be a sin.

Frustrated.

I think English-speaking people should speak it properly. It is seriously one of my pet peeves. I'm all for slang here and there, but it should not completely transform a sentence.

Highest possible grade for statistics: 89.67% That is only if I get a perfect score on my last test. So close!

People need to stop underestimating my intelligence. Too many people think I don't understand things when I know them full well.

I did better than I thought I would on my paper on Vietnam. =)

YSL...

I went to the De Young museum yesterday with Ben since it was free, but we had to pay $10 to see the Yves Saint Laurent exhibition because it looked like it would be interesting. The clothes were gorgeous, but there were a few pieces that I wasn't too fond of. I got to see the original sketches and the designs of different eras. I wasn't allowed to take pictures inside though, so I can't really show anything.

There were a lot of really cool pieces of art. This mountain of blocks was in the front entrance, and it is HUGE!

One of my neighbors decorated a tree outside of their house, which was kind of cool. It brings out the spirit of Christmas and is quite festive.

Well, I started on my paper, and I have five pages done so far. Five down, five more to go. I'm trying to work as quickly as I can. Hopefully, I won't have to do too much editing later since I tend to edit along the way.

There's an event going on at the Puma store downtown to celebrate their 60th birthday. Lady Gaga is going to be there with Steve Aoki. Admission is free, but you just need to bring this ticket. I want to go, but I'm not sure if I can because 1) I am on-call & 2) My presentation and paper are due the next day.

School ruins everything.

I heard that there's going to be a WPL reunion next Thursday, and I'd maybe be interesting in going, but it just so happens that I'm working for sure that day.

beach...

Today was Becca's last day before she went back, so we just hung out. We had lunch with Eric and Kelton at Pasquale's. As Becca would say... DELICIOUS! Then we went to China Beach for her to film some surfers. Good thing it was a nice day today, so it wasn't super freezing cold.
I went to a family dinner at first to celebrate my aunt & uncle's 25th anniversary. It was a surprise, so that caused some laughs since my cousins weren't too brilliant about setting it up. They needed a lot of help since they were so reluctant. It wasn't much of a surprise though since we only go to the Lakeside Cafe for special events, especially anniversaries and big birthdays.

This week went by SO quickly. Ugh. That means there's school on Monday. Nooooo!!! I haven't really started on my projects yet either.

I love seeing the Golden Gate Bridge at night, but hearing the giant ocean waves freaks me out.

whew...

This is monumental... for the first time, I got a 10/10 on the first attempt for marketing! I never get that; I usually have to do at least five attempts. Once I was up to 13? So sad. Man, the marketing final is coming up, and it's worth 50% of my grade. I don't know how I'm going to study for that. I am kind of screwed... eek.

My Thanksgiving was pretty good. I had dinner at my cousin ,Andrew's, house. For the first time ever, EVERYONE was there. Seriously. All my cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents were there. I got to "meet" Peyton for the first time, and she is seriously sooo adorable. She is more than "Gosselin" worthy. She is such a sweet little girl and kept wanting me to read "Dora's Halloween Adventure" book. She was a little shy at first, but eventually she warmed up to everyone and gave everyone lots of hugs. She had quite an appetite. Her older sister, Brianna, was just as cute but a little shyer. They are such cuties. :) I'd be so up for a play date. Haha.

Dang, my cousin, Bruce (Lee), is only in 6th grade and 11 years old, but he's already taller than most of us. I think he's almost the tallest cousin, being 5'7. That's insane. When he first walked in, we were like,"Wow, he grew hecka fast, and it's just the beginning."

We had our usual "Thanksgiving Mix" with random food. Those were some good lumpias. *Drool* I think I over ate or something, but I was so full that I couldn't finish my pie. :( I was falling into a food coma and just sitting on the couch. Ahh. The adults talked until 1:30am. Ugh. I heard some guitar playing and singing. O.O. My brother, cousins, and I just watched TV. Hah, "The Conan O'Brien Show" is pretty hilarious.

I got to see BECCA MA! =) We just chilled and watched the "Jon and Kate Plus 8" marathon. Good stuff. Then Anna joined us and we went to Starbucks for some coffee since it was so cold.

nothing...

Man, I haven't done any school work this week. Oops. I should get started on some presentations and my paper.

Nerdy much?

Ugh... my parents woke me up again around 8 or 9 in the morning from talking so loudly. I think my dad was on the phone talking to my aunt or whatever. They always say that I'm too loud, but who's
always waking who.

I really need to get out of this city or at least out of this house... away from the parents. That'd be the main reason why I'd transfer. They're always making excuses for me not to do anything, especially my mom. She was even trying to make an excuse for my brother not to make spam misubi. At first, they told me to catch a ride home with my aunt because they would be at church. I asked why we couldn't just drive two cars to make it easier. Then they were saying how there'd be no parking or whatever. I just said that they always try to find an excuse. Then my dad got all defensive asking if I even knew what "excuse" meant. He's like, "So what does it mean then? What's the difference between an 'excuse' and a 'fact'?" Like I'm stupid?

I saw an adviser today, and she was absolutely useless. Grr...

I went downtown with Angelica, and I forced myself to just get into Forever 21 for the jacket and get
out. It's so weird because I keep setting off the detectors. It's really annoying because I have no reason why.
I found this pair of boots at DSW, but I'm not sure if I should keep them or not. I mostly likely will, but I"m wondering if I should just wait for other ones. They were on sale for $31 compared to $50. They fit pretty well, and I can walk in them, so that's a plus.

What to wear tomorrow???

scheduling...

Scheduling for classes is so hard, especially when they're at weird times, conflicting, or bad professors.

Taylor Swift - Fearless. Becca recommended it to me, so I downloaded it
and was pleasantly surprised. It didn't sound like a country album at all, which is a good thing.

Lady GaGa - The Fame. It's got some catchy songs. There are some songs that sound like I've heard them before, but overall, it's not a bad album.

Anna, Sharon, Ben, and I went up to Davis for some sushi at Fuji. It was quite delicious, like usual. :) I brought a container for extras, which was a good idea since we had extras, and I was able to eat it for a snack; well, I shared with Ben. Then we visited Sean at his house and chilled there for a little bit. Since he had to go to class, we visited Annie afterwards. She has a doggy in the house, so it was running around and chewing its toys.

These dresses have some charm to them.

people...

Yea, I don't like people... that and group projects.

Retail therapy. Tell me about it.

HAH! I remember/found it from my deadAIM logs.

sleep...

I hate those nights where I can't fall asleep. I was tossing and turning until maybe 4am today, but at least I didn't really feel it when I woke up around 8.

Oh my gosh, Miley Cyrus is everywhere. Her "Best of Both Worlds" concert is on the Disney Channel right now, and right when it premiered at 8, she was performing at the American Music Awards. I liked her more before I saw her face everywhere from merchandise to TV. Where there's Miley, the Jonas Brothers aren't too far behind. They just won the T-Mobile Breakthrough Artist Award. I don't understand that. o.O

More stupid antics from David at Sunday school. All those distractions lead us to at least 12 or sometimes past that. "You is a little chicken."

Anna, Grace, and I went to San Dung for lunch, and it was quite delicious. =)

I chickened out for getting a haircut, so Anna just got a trim by herself.

I went with Grace to unlock her Blackberry, but there were so many people at the phone store. These families were there for at least a half an hour, where the kids were asking questions or whatever. A white couple came in with their baby, and their baby barfed on the floor. Grace had to tell the dad, and they were just laughing. Then the dad just used his shoe to blend it into the carpet. Grossssss.

Anna and I went to Express at Stonestown at first. I found this cute black top, which could pass as a dress too, and it has pockets. I saw a bad pink version of it, and it said $14.99, but the black one didn't have the sale tag, so when I went to go pay, the employee said that it was $9.99. Whoo! Even better. I love it when that happens. I got that gut/hope feeling when I picked it up and didn't see the sale price. Anyways, yea, I had $7 on a gift card, so once I used it, the difference was $1.63.

pretty houses...

Ben and I drove around different neighborhoods in San Francisco today, and they were mostly the "rich" neighborhoods. Ah, I was drooling over those big pretty houses. Some of those were just HUGE.

Originally it was sunny today, but then
all the fog rolled in. Scary. I couldn't even see the separation between sky and ocean.

When we were driving back home, I looked out the window and saw Erick driving with Ryan, Donald, and Sherry. What a coincidence.

I mostly spent my night watching "Ugly Betty", and like usual, I enjoyed my marathon. :) I must get the season 2 DVD, but it's so expensive!!!

I hate group projects these days because some people can never meet or do their share of the work. I have to work with TWO different groups for two different classes, and not everyone is very helpful. I'm perfectly find with doing individual projects even though they may require more work. At least I can just rely on myself.

week off...

Oh thank goodness... the time has actually come for a whole week off. It is much needed to just relax and to hang out with friends.

Sharon and I went to watch "Four Christmases" on Thursday for the free screening. It was actually
pretty funny and better than I thought it'd be. Some ladies got kicked out for using their phones during the movie or something. I thought they'd argue with the security, but thankfully they didn't; otherwise, it would have been sooo disrupting. They just had to be in our row, so we had to move our feet and stuff too. We had pretty good seats for being pretty far back in line.

The San Francisco Centre is all decorated already and everything like all the other malls. The dome is so pretty and it has the snowflakes hanging off.

Today was pretty fun; Angelica, Sharon, and I met up after my stupid statistics test and just ate lunch and hung out at my house. We watched "Baby Mama", which was funny. Originally, I didn't want to watch it when it first came out, but I actually liked it. Later on, Anna came to join us and we just watched TV and talked.

Angelica, Anna, Sharon, and I went to eat at Naan and Curry today with a classmate and his girlfriend and girlfriend's friend, who Anna and Sharon knew from middle school or something. It turns out that the classmate went
to my church when we were still at Washington, and he somehow knew Grace. Also, Pastor Holt baptized him. It really is such a small world.

Congratulations to my cousin, Olivia, for passing her bar exam! :)

sigh...

I saw the Backstreet Boys on TRL's finale show, and the memories just came back. I remember watching the music video for "I Want It That Way" in Hong Kong on MTV. Oh how I miss the boy band days!! Good times. :)

I helped Jennifer and Auntie Agnes buy their COACH stuff, so I took the wristlet for Jennifer to class, and I forgot about it and left until I crossed the street. I was like,"CRAAAAP!!" Then I had to run back to the classroom; thank goodness it was only in the business building, nearish to 19th Ave., and this dude in the class found it and gave it to the professor. I would've been screeeeewed if I lost that thing!

I'm sad about the results of ANTM. This is probably one of the first times I've actually been disappointed. I'm not sure if Becca has seen it yet, so I won't really say anything.

fog...

Stupid weather... it was supposed to be sunny today, but it ended up being foggy and cold. Ben and I were supposed to go pedal boating, but it was too cold, so we couldn't. We played Scrabble though, and I could've beat him by 1 point if I hadn't helped him finish off his letters. I had to subtract 7 from mine and add it to his.

I love the new purses at COACH. Too bad I can't afford any of them right now.

2 MORE DAYS OF CLASS!! =D

I really have to start my presentations and paper! I have to snap out of this procrastination phase.

Why is school such a pain? That is the universal question.
Aww no new episodes of 90210 until January. Two weeks till the next Gossip Girl episode. ANTM finale tomorrow!! I'm rooting for Analeigh! AH, that show is SO addictive. I love it!

Oh yea, that "girl", Isis, was on the Tyra Show, and she was talking about her journey of being transgender. Then Tyra brought out this gender-replacement surgeon who's supposed to be the "best", and the twist was that that surgeon was a transgender too, so he's a
woman now. Trippy.

I'm excited for Christmas because I just love it! People also tend to be in a better mood. :)

I have the weirdest dreams about my teeth. They're mostly about my retainers - Ben said I should stop wearing them because of that. I always dream that I'm wearing like a bunch of retainers, so they feel so uncomfortable. It gets to a point where the bottom one starts to move around my mouth. The other night, in my dream, I had like 20 retainers in my mouth, and I took each out, one by one and put them into my COACH scarf for some reason. I hope I don't choke from them some night. I also had another dream where I had a severe underbite. Weird.

one more week...

ONE MORE WEEK TILL THANKSGIVING BREAK!!!

TO DO:
- work on HM 351 & HM 421 group presentations
- IBUS quiz
- HM 421 10-page paper

Man, I really want a car.
That sad thing is that I got my license in 2005, and I can count the number of times I've been on the freeway. My parents always try to find an excuse of me nothing needing to drive. They expect me to catch rides with everyone all the time. I'm 20, not 12. It seems like I'm the only one not mobile. SO frustrating. I need to be on my own for sure. What was I thinking staying in SF for college?

bowling extravaganza....

Anna and I went bowling with our co-workers from COACH, and it was actually pretty fun. Everyone was in a relatively good mood, so we just had a good time. It was the first time where we all actually hung out. I actually didn't suck when bowling. Whooo! Everyone was taking pictures, so I hope I can actually see them. Haha

There was the Peace Fellowship Thanksgiving Potluck yesterday, and we had SOOOOOOO much extra food. It was crazy. There was a lot of yummy food!! I didn't expect so many people to show up.

There's only one more week till ONE WEEK OFF FOR THANKSGIVING!!!!!! YAY! I can't wait.
